on this day

I may not agree with how this day came into existence in this country, but I do fully and wholeheartedly stand by what it has come to mean. However, the importance of appreciation should never be limited to one day of the year. Just like the meaning of Valentine's day, there shouldn't be one day of the year where you show those you love how much you appreciate them. If your love and thanks only rear their heads for the duration of 24 hours... you're doing it wrong.
We all want to be remembered. In order to achieve that, we need to be thankful for those who've supported us and even those that didn't. I'm on a mission to make a mark, and that goal goes far beyond what words I have to express it. I'll love strong and feel pain and go through the motions and cope and live... I think it might be worth it.
On that note, I'll take this time to just say 'thank you'... the same way I try to do at least once every day. The moment I don't have anything to be thankful for in this life will be the day I am no longer living it. Until then, on this day and every other, I'll prove my existence.
